:USA1: 2005 Mercury 200 EFI 3.0L number 6 cyclinder not firing, check coilpack good, check injectors they check good, check reeds good, notice it was not running right this weekend after a tune up. took out number 6 plug and it still looked brand new, no combustion in cylinder. Check compression, compressing reading with in pressure. :smash: The only oither thing I can think of is the seal on the main bearing on number 6 has a hole or crack and fuel mixture escaping out the bottom, however no indiction of leaks. Sure don't want to pull the power head to check for crack seal. :praying: any suggestion will help. Thanks all in advance. Bad thing I have a tournamment this weekend so have to work on it at night and taking friday off too try to fix problem. So any sugestion will help!!!!! :21ltk5w:

Swap a plug wire with another cylinder and see if the problem moves.... Might just be a wire problem.

Thanks guys, my friend and I took a looked at everthing on the engine removed the intake fuel rails could not fine anything he took it to the shop ran some electronics test nothing. So he put it all back together and low and behold that # 6 is firing again. The real test will be Friday when I pre-fish for a tournament on Saturday. Let keep our fingers cross I think I might take in to a Mercury Marine Mechanic to go through it to see if he can find any cracked wires. I am pretty hard on this thing so it might be telling me something. Thanks again.

I agree with Hoss.......if it acts up again, swap your plug wire with another plug. If the problem moves and the coils test ok, then its probly the plug wire.

Don't feel bad... I've never weighed a fish in a tourney.

The Douglas one I fished for here with the wife I caught one keeper and threw it back. The Boone tourney I got sick and had to leave... didn't have anything but hybrids anyways. The Cherokee I fished we got ran off by lightning and had only caught one short fish. The last Cherokee tourney I fished we caught nothing but short fish all day.

It happens to everyone from time to time... just seems to follow me around more often.

Well i guess I better be in the money on the next TX or I will really be in the whole this year. It is all good just come with the love for fishing. :21ltk5w: Wish me luck boys on my next TX maybe I can recoop some money. Tom did you know the Pot was 720 dollars for boater division for the last tournament?

That stinks, but I feel your pain. My motor let go last year about the same time & it was April before I got her back on the water. The only PITA is the break in period-seems like it takes forever & with gas @ $4.00 a gallon, you can't just joyride around the lake. Good Luck & I hope you can recoup some of your money back.

:USA1: That is right Bullet Deuce hopefully I can win a couple of TX and get some money back. Moonnite it is the crank seals down by number 6 I figure that is where the seal is. Jody the Mech had to pull the power head to get to it. Then he notice something with the Popet valve he said it need replacing. He also said that the impeller looked like is was need of replacement. This is going to set me back 1100 bucks, Good thing is he hopes to have it back to me by the 17th of March for my next TX. Well I look at like this I have had my rig for 8 years and I figure it was about time that something needed work or replacing. She has giving some fun times on the water and been in some tuff situation and never has she let me down. She even did good this last TX at pickwick stayed up there with the big boys and their Tritons. It is time to get her fixed up and running right. :21ltk5w: Bullet Deuce is right with gas closing at $4.00 a gollon I want to make sure she it firing on all cylinders. :banana057:
