10acduck
Curiosity makes me ask. Since this new top water bait was an article in the recent Bass mag, has anybody already bought and tried these? From the article this lure does it all in terms of a topwater bait. According to the article the bait is only available online. Also from the website they are located in Crossville, TN. 10acduck
I tried to order a couple just to be able to say I have em. When I tried to put them in my cart the message came back out of stock and they weren't doing advance orders. That was last week, don't know if all the publicity out stripped the inventory but I get the feeling it must be a part time basement operation. If you don't rec Bass here is the site that the article actually went to. http://www.redemptionoutdoors.com/index.php?content=products

softbaitmaker
It does not have the be a Basement parttime business for Bass Master to empty the stock of a company over night. Reaction Innovations had 500,000 packs of Beavers and stores stocked with them and when Ish Monroe did so well with them in that one tournament back several years ago in 5 days you could not find them anywhere and it took them almost 5 months to get any back in stores. Same thing happened with Chatterbaits and I can think of a couple more. I'm not sure if it is a marketing technique some companies use to move stock that they have very fast or if the companies are just totally un prepared for the massive influx of sudden popularity for their baits but what ever it is Bass Masters can sell it for you. I sure hope they never have anyone show off one of my baits. I make baits for 5 of the Pro's that fish BASS and FLW and they have strict orders that if my baits ever get on Camera they will never buy any more baits from me. So far I have had three Pros win tournaments with my baits but they gave the camera man in the boat strict orders to not film the bait or make sure it gets edited out and they can give all the credit to one of their sponsors baits. My baits are not to be mentioned. Believe me when I say I don't want that kind of business. I like just taking care of weekend warriors and dedicated small tournament anglers. BassinHomer
I read that article and if anyone gets there hands on one I'd like to see it, based on the discription I'm pretty sure the guy makes them in a similar way that I make cranks with the exception of that weight transfer system, I feel pretty confident that I could make one

softbaitmaker
I don't know about the front end. That is a very narrow bait and I woul imagine that getting it to run true without going to one side of the other may be difficult. If it is a top water jerk style bait then an erradic action might work well. I think I would add a prop to the rear of the bait to get a slapping shad sound. 10acduck
I was lucky I guess and was able to get 2 in the cutie pie color. When I saw them the first thing that came to mind was adding a dressed tail hook. Went to my bench and tied 2 #4 gamy's with barbed duck hackle. I think I will try them plain first and see what happens but have the dressed hooks along for a fast change.
BassinHomer
lets get started on one Well I would but I don't know the weight of whatever it is that the feller uses for a transfer system and I need to know so as I can figure out the best way to go about constructing the thing.
