Dominion Tackle & Reel Repair

Most of y'all probably saw my post concerning an older Abu Ambassadeur I was needing repaired. JJ (ottwaybass)referred me to this guy and he's awesome....a real miracle worker. Thanks, JJ, for the hook-up!! :notworthy::wavesmile::headbang:

Anyway, his name is Jim Funkhouser and the business is Dominion Tackle and Reel Repair. Check out his process at Dominion Tackle

Its actually a two in one service. He completely disassembles your reel and cleans/degreases it. Then reassembles it replacing damaged/defective parts along the way and re-lubes with quality greases. Plus, he is a super nice guy and is very prompt at returning email questions, etc. He also works extremely quick. I sent my reel to him on wednesday April 28th and got back in the mail today, all fixed up. A 15-day turnaround, including transit time. If you need any reel work done, this guy is as good as Ive seen. Give him a try, I dont think you'll be dissapointed.

reel repair isn't that hard to do...cleaning is a breeze...just takes a little patience and time.

After looking at his website, I would prefer to send it to him to get that level of detailed service. I, for sure, will NEVER be able to re-assemble my reel after I dis-assembled it into that many parts. I would hate to send the parts to him in a ziploc baggie. :D

 Time I have plenty of since the Great Flood and I can make patience. I can get it from my meds. Just add an extra Xanax or two and I have the patience of a Saint...:unsure: But it also makes me forget which part goes where sometimes to..........:scratch::scratch:

Wow!... Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind words... Glad you are happy with the service Andy, JJ and Brian! :P

Bob, whaddya mean almost as good as Connie?... Have you been sending reels to her instead of me? Next thing I know, you'll be sending her my yaller tomatos too! LOL... Connie @ Lake Fork Tackle is my sweetie!

Andy, your reel arrived while I was on Lake Erie last week. Erie beat me like a rented mule and as soon as I can move my arms and legs again, I'll get on it. I hope to get a look at in the next few days.

I've also known Funky for many moons!! If you have need of reel cleaning and repair, he's the MAN. simply the best at his trade. I've sent him several old green Curado's because I like them a lot and want to use them for many more years. if you have costly high quality reels and want them to last for sevearal years, send them to Funky. This guy is a specialist.
