Swimbaits and Spinnerbaits

I was wondering if anyone had ever tried removing the skirt from a spinner and replacing it with a hoolow body swimbait like a money minnow.I did it yesterday on lunch break and it looked great in the water. The spinner bait I was throwing was like a 1/2 ounce so I tore the swimbait up a bit pushing it up over the bulbous head of the spinnerbait(snicker snicker  )but I think if you glued it to the head OR removed the blades and actually threaded it onto the bait it would work great. I'm gonna experiment with this some more and get back to ya, just wondering if anyone else had tried this.

When I fished up north back in the late 80's I used to downsize my spinnerbaits by removing the skirt and replacing it with a Kalins grub. It worked especially well for smallmouths in cold water.

the black/blue grub on that nitetime spinnerbait looks pretty good too! sometimes less is more!!!

That's actually a Havoc Pit Boss that I cut the head off of, the appendages flap on the retrieve so I'm hoping it'll look like some sort of panfish
