I've often heard if you wanna catch big bass you gotta use a big lure, so I was wondering what size do I need to make a bluegill crankbait to catch a keeper?

I bet there is nothing wrong with that size bait right there and it has great color. I would guess it's just not been seen by any big fish yet OR big fish have seen it but it is moving faster than they want to chase a bait. Try fishing that same bait slower and see what happens. JMHO

haha thats pretty good.

I don't believe in bigger bait bigger fish. I do believe that biggerbait will avoid catching fish that can't eat a bait that large.

My biggest largemouth,5 pound neighborhood, came on the smallest size jitterbug they make.

My girlsfriends biggest smallmouth, a 4 pounder, came on a 1 1/2" tube.

To answer your question if you go on ratios alone. Based on the picture you submitted to catch a 15" fish your crankbait needs to be aprox. 11" long. Now this is a ballpark figure and you might have to beef up your rod and reel combo but I think it should get you in the ballpark.:lol::lol:
