Stratos260
I bought a couple of 30+ cranks yesterday and was wondering if any of you guys use them and are they any good. I've been throwing the Hot Lips with my current crankbait setup and it handles them fine but I was wondering if the 30+ pulls harder than the Hot lips. Tracker1861
All I can say is I would suggest that you go to your local wally world and buy you a 25lb. dumbbell to start building the strength in your arm. It's like pulling in a 5 gallon bucket by the handle.
Guest
momma and i use to use them when trolling for walleye.....we would remone the hooks and allow them to dig in the mud....we had our walleye lures above them.....

Stratos260
I have boxes full of I used to throw when I was younger buy i'm getting ready to dig them out to use again . With the rods and reels they have today it's alot easier to deal with . I'm using a 4.7:1 reel so I hope it will give me some more power to handle them. Like I said earlier my outfit handles a Hot Lips just fine. I've never caught much on deep cranks and it's a type of fishing that I really want to get better at. From what I've researched online the 30+ actually only get's down to the 20-24'. There are a lot of times when I'm fishing that I see all kinds of fish in 20-30' of water and throw a DD22 or a 6xd and not even get a sniff so I was hoping the 30+ would get down a little farther and maybe get me some more bites. Thanks for your help guys.
blind hawg
It may sound crazy but I cranked the 30+ on 8lb test and thats what I use alot now . 8lb seager red label I think . If you take ur time you can land some big fish .

I tried my hand at long lining on one of my local lakes and figured the 8# would get me deeper. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can get down to Cherokee in the next few weeks and give them a try. SilverFox
I haven't thrown a 30 but the DD22 is easy on the set up I use. It's a Shimano 7'11 medium with a BPS 5.2:1 pro qualifier. I throw it on 10 or 12 pound line but have used 8. I just prefer the 10 or 12 since I fish a lot of brush when I find it. I have thrown it for 3 or 4 hours with out much problem and I have carpal tunnel pretty bad. Too much computer use.
