GlitterRocket
while i was i k-town checking on my grandmaw, i had some time to kill between i.c.u. visits i went over to academy( less than a mile from park west) and got a new bucoo for $49.88!!!!! thats a $130 rod, for $50!!!! i had planed on getting one anyway, and thought i would use some of the $$$ i saved on the rod to upgrade from a curado to a chronarch for it! its a 7 ft. med. i think i'll make it my new trap/buzzbait/ kicking frog rod. the guy at academy said it was a closeout deal, and they wouldn't get any more, they also had the low rider rod for $59.00, thats great deal on those rods too! i saw the new all star rods today, and they look and feel great! i used to be an all star guy, but thought they were falling behind to some other stuff on the market. with rods that look and feel as good as these did, i might have to get another all star. i'll let ya'll know how the bucoo and chronarch combo works out! i checked there website and didn't find any bucoo's at that price, so it must be an in store thing. Stratos260
Congrats on the great deal I have a couple of All Star rods and I love the crankbait rod but I don't really like the 7' medium heavy. I bought the MH because Bass Pro had them on sale online for about half price so I ordered it without knowing anything about it but I figured for $50 what did I have to lose. For one thing this rod is way too stiff to be a MH. I have an Okuma 7'11" XH swimbait rod rated for lures 2-6 oz. and I swear it has more tip action than the All Star MH. It's also kind of heavy. This rod may have been from the time when you were saying they were falling behind but I am not impressed with it.
