lunkerhunter1982
I use a 5/0 or 6/0 EWG with a 3/8-5/8 weight. Worms that big need the weight to get the tail action.

pccustomtackle
I fish 12" Jelly worms some, and I use a 6/0 Gammy round bend worm hook. Have good hook ups with that hook !! and I use different size weights according to where I'm fishing the worm ( snake!! ).
softbaitmaker
I will begin fishing that 12.5 worm soon and I'm going to stitch mine. 5/0 up front and 3/0 right in front of the ribbon tail. Nothing like having that stinger hook in the rear section and if Lunker was fishing my big worms he would not have to use those old heavy weights to get his worm to have tail action. Mine have action just dead sticking them on the bottom...............
bassfishingcc08
i usually use a 5/0 wide gap hhok for more secure deeper hook sets but ocassionally i will drop down to a 4/0 wide gap hook if i am wanting to give the tail just a hair more action. U will be suprised on what a difference that makes on their reaction strikes
