softbaitmaker Posted November 17, 2012 Report Share Posted November 17, 2012 How many folks here on the site are running around with Broken decket's on their Motor Guide trolling motor mounts. For those of you that don't know what that is it's that flimsy piece of pointed junk that your trolling motor hits when you pull it up and it turns the trolling motor so you can lay it on the deck. I put the new mount on my boat I bought from someone here which I am not blaming them at all because it was new in the box. About the third trip out I noticed it had a crack in it. By about the 8th trip out I noticed that the entire tip of the Decket was broke off. They are just a cheap piece of plastic that must have came from China. I went down to try and order another one and they said they were on back order for a month so I placed and order for one and called a month later and they informed me that they had re back ordered them for another month so I increased my order to 2 deckets. After the 4th month of back orders and my additional 2 more added I finally got my 4 deckets. If anyone is planning on ordering one GOOD LUCK because they are on back order again. abuddy of mine stopped by about an hour ago and said he had to order one for his trolling motor and they told him that he need not hold his breath on when they will come in. I fixed mine so it won't break again. I added a strip of aluminum that wraps around the nose of it and getting ready to glue on the rubber bumpers on them so they won't cut transducer cables. :ph34r: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It took me 4 months to get mine so I got 4 of them. I now have 4 and since I Modified mine new ones they don't break had one on now for a month and trolling motor has hit it fairly hard and not even a crack. Word is they plan on discontinuing them the fisrt of the year so if your going to get any back ups you better get them ordered now............
