Stratos260
I had a topic up a few weeks ago about the plastic float bowls on my carburetors on my Johnson V4 90 being warped and leaking. I used sandpaper to lap them back flat only to put them back on and realize that one of them had a small crack and was still leaking. I went ahead and ordered the replacement aluminum float bowls and when they got here there is an instruction sheet that comes with them that says the intermediate jets in the aluminum float bowl are a different thread pitch than the original jets from the plastic float bowls and to order the appropriate size jet that is a #8-32 thread pitch. I went to boats.net and there is only one part number for the 26C jet that is the right size for my carb. I ordered four of them assuming that since the plastic float bowl isn't available anymore that the jets they have in stock would be the #8-32 threads that I need for the aluminum float bowl and not the 1/4-20 jets that I already have that won't work in the aluminum float bowl. I got them in today and they are 1/4-20 just like what I have and no one anywhere seems to have any idea of a part number for the 26C jet that is a #8-32 thread. I'm thinking about tapping the holes to 1/4-20 and using my old jets but I hate to do that to a brand new part but if I want to make the tournament next weekend it might be my only option. I'm a mechanic and I've learned that working on your own stuff is way more frustrating than working on stuf for other people.
Whopper
Bo I feel your pain A few years back I had a problem with my boat, long story short a local marina wanted over $1800 to do a repair, I didn't have the money at the time and was getting ready to go fishing for a week up north. So it was fix it myself or pay them and stay home. I fixed it myself and I cost me an all nighter and $80 in parts, two days later I went fishing. I felt good about myself after it was done. I'm electrician by trade and do stuff for people all the time but my wife has a hard time getting me to change a light bulb at the house LOL Get er done
Stratos260
Whopper it's a lot different working on something knowing if you mess something up it's coming out of your pocket. I work for a John Deere dealer so if a part is broken by me the company eats the cost and we go on. Granted it doesn't happen often but it makes working easier knowing that you don't have to pay for it if you mess up.

The good people at Anchor marine in Speedwell and Watsons Marine took care of me. I called Anchor and they gave me the part number but they didn't have them in stock. I called Watsons and they had them and they're shipping them to me. I'm off work Thursday so I should be able to get it together then.
