Pilgrim
Anyone hve any ideas on how to put an indicator light on a trolling motor that does not have one. I have an older MG that has the raised arrow on it but no light. Kinda hard to tell which way your going at night.
Whopper
If it's an older style with the arrow indicator that swivels on top try painting it with some glow in the dark paint
whj812
I used a chart colored highlighter in my arrow on the ole minn kota. I wear an led blacklight headlamp and she glows nice under it. Worked really good on Douglas the other nightt.
Charger
You can go get the 24volt bulb at a marine dealer (if you are running a 24v tm) and go to Radio Shack for the bulb socket. You will have to solder it to your board. But the glow in the dark paint would be my choice.
Pilgrim
Thanks guys...good ideas. The glow in the dark paint would be an easy fix.
Tracker1861
Mine doesn't glow either, I just mainly go by feel because I have mine set when the peddle is level it's going straight, up is right and down is left. Much easier on me to tell which way I'm going by having it set up right to begin with. I dunno if I would use or even notice the light if I had one on mine because of the way I've got it set up. Ok, not to hijack your post Brian, but I need to know the answer to this one. Somehow a couple weeks ago my TM got offline. The pedal no longer has it aimed the direction that it used to. How do I go about adjusting it?

Take the top off and, depending on the model, you can find out what jumped off track where and how to adjust it. I used to have a MinnKota that would spin a little plastic gear off its base and Id have to square up the head and reinsert the gear.

After that you simply turn the head until the foot is going in a straight line with the peddle level, then tighten up the wing nut leaving the head in a fixed position. From then on you will be going straight when your peddle is level and when you push forward you will be going right, down and going left......easy as taking candy from a baby.
