smalljaw
It seems Trokar is already getting a bad name, I'm posting this for anyone who may be thinking about paying 2 dollars a hook by the way. I was surfing around and took a gander at the tackle tour forum and it seems a lot og uys are having the hook points bend after one hookset and they don't notice it until they catch and lose the second fish, I thought maybe it's like anything else and you'll have disatisfied customers but after some looking around it seems to be a trend. The only thing I disagree with is a lot are blaming the problem on the fact the hooks are made by Eagle Claw, yes the people making them are to blame but aside from Trokar, which I won't pay for, Eagle claw hooks have been good to me, I like using the Lazer sharp worm hooks and Mustads also and Snoot turned me onto the new Lazer sharp black pearl EWG jig hook and it has been holding up well and is really sharp out of the box. So if you were on the fence and thinking about getting these, do some research first, to be fair I've also heard good things abouth them but it seems the bad reports are outnumbering the good ones by a significant margin. whj812
I like the BPS ones too. I lucked out and found a bunch of Value packs of Gammys at a local pawn shop. Ended up getting 2/0 3/0 4/0 and 5/0 25 packs for 5 bucks each. Once these are gone its back to the BPS branded ones. Honestly hard to tell the difference between the 2. lunkerhunter1982
I am gonna continue to keep using my Owners, and will buy Gammies when in a pinch. Don't care what kind of BS Skeet and the rest of them are paid to spew about the Trokars. A hook can't get sharper than an Owner ST-46 without becoming so thin that it gets weak. What kind of moron thought it would be a good idea to introduce a TWO DOLLAR HOOK in the worst economy in 80 years?

JimTR196
I noticed the other night that I'm about outso I will probably buy Gammies this time. LurePartsOnline (Stamina) has them by the 100 pack for a great price. They last me more than a year.
AlexH
I have heard that for big hooks (7 and up) they are the sharpest you can find. Anything under 7 and the other companies (gammy, owner, etc) stand up just fine.
davidcaldwell21
question, why would anyone use anything other than Gamakatsu?
lunkerhunter1982
question, why would anyone use anything other than Gamakatsu? They are sharp, and are a great all-around hook that I use a lot. However, no treble is as mean as an Owner, either the ST-36 or ST46. I watched a big spot put an ST-46 in the bottom of my dads thumb, dead center, and it came in a straight line all the way out his thumnail. Nasty sharp haha. I have also had a few problems with Gammies' points rolling over and also having them bend/flex on big fish with heavy line. But day in and day out, and especially because they are a good product, at a decent price, that is easy to find, Gammies are hard to beat.
