MtCarmelBugMan
I have fished p-line cxx for years for my night fishing. It is one of the toughest lines I have ever seen. Now here is my problem. All spring before I start night fishing I use braid so when I swap over it takes a little time to get use to setting the hook with the difference in line strech. My question is this what line can I use that is durable, low stretch and visible under UV? I have tried Microfuse but didn't really care for it all that much. I am looking for any suggestions and may give the microfuse another try.
Tracker1861
Good question Shannon although I can't help you here cause I don't use braid on any of my reels, never could get used to it and didn't like it when I tried it several times. Although I did like Power Pro better than any of the braids I've tried.
Charger
For me its hard to beat the cost of Stren clear-blue. Yes Im cheap but it is a strong line and works good for me.
whj812
Im an advocate of Sufix Pro Mix now! I switched back to it again from Pline Cxx.
Mountainman
Boys, you just cant go wrong with good ole Bass Pro Excel....if it aint freakin broke, dont freakin fix it. Just my opinion, been usin it for years and years. Tried braid, didnt like it. Tried flouro, didnt want to afford it. BPS Excel all the way. Matter of fact, just got 3 new spools of it this very afternoon!

I actually have a 746yd spool of it sitting next to me. My wife got it for me in the winter for 3 bucks or something @ BPS

flipperjig
hey boys let me say this...be aware of the bass pro excel line...i to have used it for yrs...it is being made by a different company now and there is alot of people having problems with it...including myself!!!! i bought some a few weeks ago..14lb clear in the bulk spool..i spooled up a couple of bait casters and got broke off twice before i finally relised the line was bad..just so happenes i had spooled up about 5 or 6 rods with this line...i called bass pro and they told me i would have to drive the 100 miles back to the store were i got it exchange it...thats a bunch of bull in my book..i talked to a friend of mine that works for a bass pro shops here in the southeast and they said they have been getting alot of complaints and alot of line comming back to the store since it has been made by the new company..i guess i will have to start going with the suffix pro mix..i think this line is probably the best since i cant relie on the bass pro shops line anymore. NiceGuy
i have had good success with excell line.. needs to be retied every 15 to 30 mins when bottom bouncing though. thats with all mono...
AlexH
I have been throwing 10 pound pp with a 12 pound floro leader on spinning tackle alot lately. Great sensitivity and if you keep your leader long the floro takes the abrasion and the braid gives you all the sensitivity that you could want. (leader length starting at 15 feet, then I retie as I see nics etc, once it is down to around 5 feet or so I replace the leader) Also you have amazing casting distance with the 2 pound diameter braid, and unlike with mono and floro, if you cast far enough you can not feel squat, but you can cast as far as you want and it is still like you have your hand on the bottom. eastenfish
Stren has came out with a clear/blue flourocarbon for night fishing BPS sells it. Might want to try using it year round. It's a little pricey but in my opinion you can't beat flourocarbon for bottom fishing. I love the sensitivity.
smalljaw
The Sufix elite has a high vis yellow that would work well under a black light and it is one of the lower stretch mono's on the maket and it handles very well, I like that and the Cajun Red Advantage is another good copolomyer but I'mnot sure if it would show up under a black light. JimTR196
I thought I saw somewhere that Suffix came out with a braid the glows red under the blacklights for night fishing. I'll see if I can find it.
JimTR196
http://www.sufix.com/usa/fishing_line/performance_braid/ The line is Fluorescnet Neon Fire. I've never tried it but it's supposed to be for night fishing. Good Luck.
