Legislation to prevent barriers in the spillways

Recommended Posts

Well, chalk up another one for the Anglers. Senator Lamar Alexander has already stated that if the Corps tries to do it he will refuse the funding to do it because he is the head of the Finance Committee that funds all money to the Corps and he has said he will not approve the funds. It's great to see our representatives standing behind our sporting community on issues like these. It was really just a new man put in a position of power wanting to throw his weight around and he got shot down quick on the issue. He has also raise a few other troubling issues that has drawn attention towards the Corps and it is now my understanding that he has been replace by another person.............. :thumbsup2: :thumbsup2:

Man I hope you guys win this thing but if the power companies start throwing money it will be hard for th congressmen to hold as they love the bribes, especially big ones like the ones the power companies will be shelling out now. I'm with you, take an act of angling away in one place and it will expand and grow like a cancer, this need to be squashed down quickly!!

Well, I'm not saying it might not happen but I have known Lamar Alexander personally since the early 1980's just before he became the Governor of Tennessee. We are good friends and I ahve been to his home on many occasions and he has never been one that could be bought and I don't think he can be now either and with being the head of the Finance Committee in the U.S. Senate and he has already said he will not approve the funding for it I do believe he will stand his ground on this issue...................JMHO

Glad to see our representatives standing up for the anglers.

You can take one thing to the bank on this. He is not doing it for the anglers. He is doing it for the voters. Politicians never do anything for a select group without expecting something in return. I agree it is good that Lamar took the time to address the issue but it was most likely only because he was home on recess from his other job in Washington D.C..................JMHO
