Red Line???

Not a fan of it, just can't bring myself to believe it. Sounds like a lot of marketing hooha to me haha. Of course, I don't use the green line because I can't see it myself. I use clear, quality mono or premium floro in the daylight and quality blue mono under the moon. Line is one of those things that is worth paying extra for. Quality line lasts longer and catches you more fish, through sensitivity, manageability, and fewer lost fish. If fish shying because of seeing the line is an issue, nothing is going to do as good as floro, much less beat it. . .

I used to use it for crappie fishing, but the stuff is just too stiff. Supposedly they have changed the formula and it is now supposed to be better, but my numbers didnt go up while using it so I changed to hi-vis Mr Crappie. I can say CajunRed is probably the strongest line I have used.

I have used red line one time. It was CajunRed and I hated it, because I felt it had way to much line memory. I was using 8 lb test, but that was the only complaint I had with it.

Don't know who to believe - the line peaople that say the red color disappears under the water or the hook and lure companies that say that the red color gets more strikes. Someone must be wrong. I'll stick with P-Line CXX. Lots of memory, but I never worry about breaking off a fish.

Well, I guess I have at one time or another tried about every line on the market looking for the best all around line. About 8 years ago A guy gave me a spool of 100 yards of Sufix Promix in 12 pound test to try. I spooled up a reel with it and happened to be my Fluke rod. Not thinking about it being 12 lb test. I was fishing some Standing River River weeds and had caugt 3 fish about 3 lbs each on the outter side of the weeds and then came to a patch of weeds that was big enough to have an opening in the middle of it. Not thinking I threw the Fluke over in the opening and it got flused imediately. I sent the hook and had a 6 lb fish on and about 15 feet of standing weeds between me and the fish. All at once that fish decided it was time to come out of the weeds. All I could do was hold pressure on the fish and watch as the line cut the tops of the weeds like a gasolene powered weed eater. Weed tops flying everywhere. I just knew when this hawg got in open water and could really apply pressure the line was going to give up. The big fish jump and pulled and then wet in the net. I won that little Wednesday night tournament with 22 pounds of fish all coming on Flukes. After catching that hawg I pulled off about 15 yards of line to check for frays. Not one fray in the line anywhere. I couldn't believe it after what she put the line threw. I retied and went back fishing. I was impressed with the abrasive strength of the line and the castability and little to no line memory. I know and have been ordering Sufix DNA ProMix on 4000 yard spools in 4 different sizes. Clear Blue Florscent is all I use now. Can't see the green as well not that my eyes are not good enough to see the green any longer. I don't like any of the new Sufix lines and have to special order the ProMix and I order it in the big spools because you never know when a company will discontinue a product you love. JMHO and :2cents: worth
