Very interesting topic snoot. :applause: I have used it a few times over the years and with some pretty good results. The way I look at it, it's basically a technique used in high pressure lakes and situations and is a carolina rig finessed. I have used mine on a spinning outfit and I use really small baits like centipedes and ect. Like I said, I have done it and caught fish on it but probably haven't tied one on in about 4-5 years.

this i the way a guy explained it to me...he was throwing it on 8lb Floro...taking a 1/8-1/4 oz crimping sinker ..them crimping it (i guess oe could use a regular worm sinker and peg it) about 18" up from the hook..then using a Trick Worm because it floats. then finesse fish really slow...

Another thing you may want to give a try!

I use a spinning outfit with a fast tip and some backbone, MH TN handle Castaway. Only Castaway I have these days, everything else is Lamiglas but I like the handle. 6-8 lb line. I use split shots, the bigger ones, and the conditions determine if I use two or not. Crimp them about 2 ft from the hook. I normally use a #1 or 1/0 worm hook. As suggested above I opt for smaller baits like 4 in lizard, centepede, finess worm, paca craw etc.

sorta like a mini c-rig, fish very slow. Takes awhile to get used to it but it will catch fish, not just small ones either.

I use a spinning reel with a very good drag system, I prefer US Reels with big spools. Some folks back reel, but I prefer a good reel with a good drag.

Hope this helps

I used it allot 6 or 7 years ago on Holston, but I've got away from it as well.... It works for sure.

+1....ive nailed some BIG brown honeys on it at SoHo. My rig was basically a mini c-rig: 1/8 or 3/16 egg on 10 lb mono and a heavy 7' spinning rig. Worked on some of those nice long clay points around point 9 and josiah creek was gauranteed a good un! Man, I had about forgot about that setup!

I never knew it had a name but I pretty much do that with split shot about two foot up from the hook , 8lb test spinning equipment, I've found it works really, really well when the bass are feeding heavily on shad in coves but won't hit traditional shad inmitators like spinners, cranks or lipless, just put a super fluke on and throw some split shot on it, cast past the bait ball, let it hit bottom and drage her back through

I bought the mojo weight kit just to get the little tool and rubber strips to peg bullet weights.

No more of Crig fisher than I am, I didn't see any since in trying a "finesse" version of it. But I do like that little tool that comes with it.

J :D

Ive used one on norris, with a strike king elastech 4" floating grub or 4" zoom lizard, with the grub i pull it real fast & let it fall. With the lizard, it seems better to let it sit for up to 30 secs at a time, then just twitch it. Good on smallies & spots.
