Disregard my entry. My wife's family is haveing a baby shower / party on the 22nd for the baby boy were expecting by the end if July. We actullay planned to have it on the 22nd of June because mwbrand and i were both fishing this site trail. Funny how things work out!! So it pains me to withdrawal from this but it looks like I wi not be able to fish this one. Good luck to all who fishes.  At least I can still drop two of my lowest TX points...If that hasnt changed by now.

why the change! a lot of people have taken off the 29th

It was changed because the Watsons on Boone is the same night and we felt like #1 there wouldn't be as good of a turnout and #2 between our tourney, the 70-100 boats the Watsons will have and whatever other tourneys are going on that same night that it would be safer for all involved to try it a week earlier.

I for one have been there when a 150 boat tournament was on Boone and it was not fun at all. Now add in the fact that it is Saturday night with all the bar hoppers and it sets things up for a disaster. Boone is a narrow lake and a small lake also in my opinion it is best not to get in the middle of the stupidity that will be taking place on the 29th. I really didn't want to have to change anything this year but I would much rather see a few guys upset about the date change than have to drag some out of the lake that got ran over while trying to fish a site tournament. As a committee we do the best for the greater good of our members even though some may not think so. I hope you all understand and will continue to support the trail. I was glad to see this trail continue because most others are so cut throat you can't even talk to the other fisherman. We wanted a trail that was fun and friendly but still competitive. I think for the most part we have achieved that. Most of us stay at the ramp for an hour or more after the events just telling stories about what happened during our day. Now I am not saying all of them are true but it is still a lot of fun and that is what fishing is about. I am more than happy to talk to anyone about the tournaments and try to explain our thoughts and listen to complaints or ideas at any time. I don't think posting complaints to an open forum does a lot to help the cause because we don't get the same interaction. Feel free to call me at any time @ 817-1781.

Well guess i won't get to fish this one. Scheduled my yearly family vacation around the boone night tournament. Now its during my vacation. 80+ boats sound good to me at least I would get to fish it. Most will probably fish the watsons with the 80 boats next weekend anyway. At least the two wasn't at the same ramp, now thats a CONFLICT!!!! I believe in no change at all during the season. Changes are made in the off season. Just my opinion and felt I needed to express it.

Thanks for expressing your opinion! I felt like I was the only one who would step up and say what they felt! I also have scheduled around these tourney dates that are " set in stone" and planned family outings around these dates. There was 9 boats signed up for the 29th, hope they get the turnout there expecting for the 22nd. Heck I've fished this site trail when there was less then 10 boats. What's changed?? I guess the comittie has some valid reasons on the date change.

Nathan, I understand your frustration and, as I said before, and I apologize for any inconvenience. The tx committee made the decision to try to minimize the possibility of accidents by moving the tx back a week from Watsons. You guys dont understand the background work that goes into scheduling this trail around other tourneys. We dont change things just for kicks & giggles. As representatives of this web site, we are partially responsible for the safety of the folks fishing our tx's. 80+ boats in Watsons, plus the normal summer night time traffic on Boone was enough reason for the tournament committee to feel like the best decision was to change the date. Participation be damned, the major reason for any changes in our schedule is the safety aspect. I, personally, spend days printing other tourney trail's schedules and trying to limit same-day and same-lake conflicts prior to scheduling our tx's. Again, I apologize for the changes and any inconveniences it brought about. The tx committee's decision is final and we hope as many of you guys that can make it out on the 22nd will.
