New GLOOMIS replacement policy as of August 1st

The new policy as of Aug 1 is:

1. You must have ALL of the rod to get a new one at a dealer and must ship all of the rod to shimano to get a new one.

2. The exchange price has went from $50 to $100.

Never owned a Gloomis but have used them some. I will stay with my shimano rods that have over the counter exchange(as of now they still do anyway). How many of you G guys are still going to buy them now?

I have some Loomis but other than a custom jerkbait rod, a custom small crank rod, and a custom popper rod, I am unimpressed by mine, and won't be buying any more. Went to Powell's because of the warranty, and I have been impressed with them. Heck, I have called them and had them send me extra tip guides and such with no questions asked for no price, and the two I broke due to a rod locker/yacht wave incident were replaced over the counter.

I have a great custom loomis rod that is one of my favorites, but for the $$$ there's better rods available. And with this ridiculous fee for exchanges, their sales will plummet just like Kistlers did.
