SouthernSam
I fish the N. Fork quite often in TN, but can’t help with any VA access. The N. Fork has very limited access, but a float can be done. You can put in at W. Carters Valley Road. If you are looking upriver the put in is on the left side of the bridge. You can turn right beside the bridge and you will see where people put it right at the first bend it the road, right there at the bridge. I always launch and then pull off the road up closer to Carters Valley Rd, I try not to block the access. Then you can float down to where 11W/W. Stone Drive crosses the river. There are several spots to pull off the road there, the road is called Big Elm Rd. and can be accessed off of Netherland Inn Rd. That float is about 4.5 miles and can be done is a half day or drug out all day long. If you want a little longer float you can float on down to where the N Fork and S, Fork meet up. Kingsport has a public parking area there, but you will have to drag you boat up a huge hill (a cart is almost a must for this or at least someone to help carry it up there). There are a few more pull off between Carters Valley and 11W on Big Elm Road but they are all petty much posted. Hope this helps.
BulletDeuce
We have done the float from the US-23 bridge in Weber City to Carters Valley Bridge. There is a gravel driveway to the right of the bridge with a crude concrete ramp that you can use,& there is usually a grassy area near the guard rail to park. We have also done a float from Yuma(WWTP) to 11-W. Its a little more of a challenge to get a boat in due to the drop-off, but there are several gravel areas to park your vehicle. Depending on flow, the Weber City float is about 8-9 hours & the Yuma float is somewhere around 6-7 hours. There are a few places that are a bit shallow, which may involve some dragging if you take a jonboat.
