My dad bought one yesterday and was heading home and accidentaly slammed the truck door on it. :( He said it only broke the tip on it.

What will he have to do to get it fixed? It has a lifetime warranty on it but what do you have to do to send it back, etc ? Or can he take it back to the store that he bought it from?

thanks,

chris

Good luck on finding an over the counter exchange now. They changed their warranty last year. With shipping and the 39.95 replacement fee, it will probably be close to $60 to get a new one. This is one reason I only buy shimano rods, their warranty is the best in the business. This is pasted from the carrot stix website:

THIS WARRANTY SUPERSEDES ALL EXISTING WARRANTIES as of July 1, 2009

Carrot Stix Warranty Center

300 International Drive, Suite 100

Williamsville, NY 14221 USA

PROCEDURE: To have a broken rod replaced please call toll free 1-888-400-0321 between 9 am - 6 pm EST and speak with one of our warranty service professionals. A $39.95 fee plus shipping and handling charge will apply to all replacement rods. Preferred shipping rates and potential equipment upgrades may be obtained, only by calling 1-888-400-0321. Upon completion of your call a replacement rod will be shipped to you immediately. As proof of purchase, please mail a section from the broken rod containing the Carrot Stix decal, the model number, and a copy of the original receipt to the Carrot Stix Warranty Center. Rod models, shipping, handling and other charges are subject to change without notice. Warranty void if the rod has been altered in any way from its original configuration, including unauthorized repair or damage resulting from misuse, abuse or use of rod for purposes other than those for which it was intended for.

if it's only broken the first inch to inch and 1/2 i would simply put another tip top on it...the difference will be hardly noticedable at all...

if you need i can walk you through putting another tip on it :headbang:
