maw10
a couple years ago i spooled a couple of my set-ups with braid...the one i use for texas/carolina rigs and the other that i use for pitchin' jigs. i've been using mono leaders on them that i joined using the old "nail knot" i learned as a kid, and it has worked well for me. i just got some fluoro leader line to try, mainly because of it's "invisibility" quality i've been reading about, but wasn't happy using a nail knot to join the braid to the fluorocarbon, so i decided to go to a uni knot. it seems to be working but i've yet to test it fishing. as you can see, i'm new to fluorocarbon. my questions are, what do you think? what do you use for joining leader to braid if you don't like the uni knot? and what knot do you like best for tying the fluoro to hook/lure? bronzebackhuntr
I always use a double uni or a blood knot to join mine. I've heard some guys talking about a knot called a crazy Alberto, but I've never had any issues with either that I use and IMO if it ain't broke, don't fix it. JoeP
I like the crazy Alberto. It's on youtube and a pain to tie but it's the only knot that has never failed me.
Mountainman
Ive been using the blood knot for years. Never had any issues with it. Just always add a drop of krazy glue after its tied.

Jon
I use a uni to uni and I've never had it fail. I use it with 20lb power pro to 20 Seaguar Flouro every time out when inshore fishing and it's held up to 15lb redfish without a problem. You can fish a little bigger line size with the fluorocarbon when using it for a leader versus using it for your main line...
Stratos260
I've always used the double uni but I've been tying the modified albright lately. Knot Wars on YouTube showed that the modified albright is stronger than the double uni for braid to fluoro but I've caught a lot of fish on the double uni and its never failed me. The modified albright is also a lower profile knot than the double uni so it goes through the guides a little easier too.http://youtu.be/2R_2xautA1U Edited July 30, 2013 by Stratos260
