I just registered .I bass fish a lot . I have fished every day for a while now and probably won't miss many days until mid December when I will slow down for the winter . That's when I will be trout fishing more . I have been fishing hard for half a century . I don't need or want anyone to tell me where to fish or how to fish or what to fish with and don't feel the need to tell anyone any of those things . So, I don't really know why I log on to fishing sites except for the fact that I am obsessed with fishing and like to read about it when I am not doing it . I don't troll and  I don't bait fish . I do trout fish ,striper fish, and inshore salt fish but I bass fish more than anything else . I throw a plastic worm rig about 70% of the time along with topwater plugs and crankbaits and fly rod stuff . I don't throw jigs a lot and have never been into spinnerbaits at all .

So , I guess this can go in the too much information category but I'm here reading some of this stuff . Oh yeah , I don't read new member intro posts or run my post count up by saying welcome to every one of them and I don't waste much time on posts that have no punctuation . By the time I figure out what somebody is trying to say in a jumble of words that amounts to one huge sentence fragment I usually find that their thoughts are as jumbled up as their writing .

 So howdy!

LOL.....I agree Mike. Not sure what to make of the intro post, but youre welcome to come here and not participate as you wish, I reckon. Heck, everybodys welcome here, whether they're rude or not. :thumbsup2:

But let me clarify a few things for you. Maybe youve had some poor experiences at other fishing forums, and thats understandable. But here at TNBF, we are a pretty close knit group. Most folks, and by most I mean 75%, participate in some form. Whether its posting reports or just general fishing talk. We dont welcome new members to "boost our post counts". We welcome new members because its a good opportunity to make new people feel welcome and we genuinely care about each of our new members. You never know when someone is going to join that will play a major role in the growth & development of our site, fishing in general, or introducing a child to fishing and pass the torch on to the next generation. And while unpunctuated posts are hard to decipher, some folks just arent as good with a keyboard as others, and you know, here at TNBF, we try to give everybody the benefit of the doubt. Maybe Im out of line a little here, but to sign up as a new member on a fishing forum, and proceed to inform everybody on the site of how little you plan to participate kind of rubs me the wrong way. Im not really sure why anyone one would waste their time on a fishing forum if youre not planning on sharing any info, looking for any info, welcoming new members, or being sociable.

You casll me rude .I don't care ; I call it being honest . The rules said I had to post here to see the full site . So I did . I said what I think . I don't by the "arne't as good with a keyboard " line . It is laziness that causes people to skip punctuation . But I don't care what anybody does at their keyboards . All I said is that if someone doesn't care enough about what they are writing to put it in the basic readable form called English grammar then I probably won't care much about it either . Frankly , I find your tone offensive . But so what ? I don't know you . Thanks to the 2 posters who said wlecome . As for yours ; no thanks . These sites are made by a guy that sits in his home office most of the day and maybe goes fishing once a year . He doesn't live any where near the region and is only interested in raising head counts . But who cares ?

Your confusion about wasting time on a fishing forum is understandable at least . It is kind of like watching people catch fish on TV. It can be amusing at times but it does not satisfy the desire to be actually fishing and eventually becomes meaningless and boring . Good day to you EOA .

now now...no need to get burrs in our britches here. there's all kinds here and that's what makes it interesting. i might not like some of the things the next guy does, an' im sure the next guy doesn't like some of the things i do....but my motto is...like it or leave it. there's no one pressuring any one of us to accept what the other guy is doin', as long as the other guy don't step on my toes.

like ol' Hank said..."mind your own business, cuz if you mind your own business you won't be mindin' mine". if everyone followed that advice, we'd all be a bit happier.

Thats where youre mistaken, pal. The guy(s) that created THIS site live right here in east TN. Both of us fish as often as we can, which isnt "every day for a while now" mostly because we both work to feed our families and our fishing habit. I know this because I am half the guy(s) that created this site. The other half is busy patrolling right now, or he would be on here to discuss it with you too. You may find my tone offensive, and youre free to do so. It wasnt meant to be anything but. Its a free country and youre welcome to lurk here because we dont turn anybody away. I wasnt going to dignify your response with a rubuttle, until you run down my site and my friends.

call      no space between end of sentence and period (20 times through entire post), and improper use of a semicolon (twice in post)    Aren't

*sigh* See above referenced post, I'll attempt to clean it up for you, grammar Nazi

Correction to the above statement highlighted in blue, the guy who owns this site is local from right here in NE TN, and is a police officer in Jonesborough, you are correct about the only fishing once a year though.

Welcome to the site though, we are a tight knit group of guys who just like to shoot the bull and have fun, feel free to join in.  Maybe you can come out and fish some of our site tourneys with us.

You forgot to fix one mistake......see above by to buy correction. I was hoping someone would be the grammer police on his post. Nice job!

 your a yankee, ain't ya?

I would say you are correct on the yankee.

It's a shame someone with so much time on the water and apparently knows how to shake a worm won't help a fellow fisherman out any. I understand that you don't want to give away fishing spots or exactly what type or color worm you drowned today, but this site is about so much more. Post what you catch so other can dream of being on the water while at work day in and day out. With fishing everyday for the past decade, you must have had some boat problems or run in with some pleasure boaters. Come share that boat knowledge of do's and don'ts on and off the water that a new boater may benefit from. Rant and rave about some kid that took 30 minutes to launch his boat or about some jet ski that circled your boat for hours. You could brag about how much better a fisherman than everyone else you are or how you dropped your Obamaphone in the lake. I guess you can always sit back in the shadows and just read the posts. Nothing wrong with that either.

Where do I start edd?  Or should it be Edd?

Welcome to the best fishing site on the net!   Like everyone above me stated, this is a site created by a "local" right here in our neck of the woods.  Although he does not get to fish as much these days as I am sure he wants, he created this site.........and also writes the check to keep it up and running each month for all of us (including you edd) to enjoy.

With all due respect, I will offer one little tidbit of advice that my Papaw (R.I.P) always told me...........when you stop learning, you stop living. ;)  Enjoy the site the best way you know how, as long as it is respectful to others and in accordance to the site rules you will be free to do so. ;)
