maw10
nice looking Doe...he looks happy...and thers some fine jerky and tenderloins there too ...... yup, and we'll be boning them out and butterflying them chops real soon here. spent the morning sharpening knives, cleanin' off the butcher table, and settin' up the li'l shop stove to keep hot water for cleanin' handy. gotta check with Mrs. Maw to make sure we have enuf freezer paper. all i need now is for my back to hold up to standin' in one spot fer several hours, slicin' and dicin'. maw10
Spent many an hour in PA as a child stamding beside my dad slicin and dicin deer for the freezer. Priceless memories. y'know Jim...i was just yesterday wondering how many deer i've "processed" in my lifetime. i should have put notches in my knife or something, but if i had there might not be much handle left. all i know is i'm sure i've saved hundreds of $ doing it myself over the last forty years or so. i'm about to pass the torch to my kid and son in law t'do all the prep work (stands and such) the tracking (blood trailing and such) and the butchering. been training them for years and now it's time for me to sit and watch. fisherman1989
Got my buddy to help me process the meat. And learned how to do it myself. That will save me $65 everytime I get one now
