basslover79
Do any of you know what size bearing's or the hub that fit's on a boat trailer. I am trying to find a spare to keep in the boat and I have looked on the trailer but can't find any info on the size of the axles. My trailer is a single axle for an 18 1/2 ft. boat. Thanks for any help.
Mountainman
who is the trailer manufacturer? There should be an info plate welded or riveted either on the side of the tongue or on the inside of one of the front crossmembers.
MOONlite
most non-Ranger trailers have tapered spindles which use 1-3/8" inside and 1-1/16" outside. a few Ranger trailers also have tapered spindles.
basslover79
The only plate I can find Mountainman say's Dixie Craft Trailer's. BSD 286 Pro. It also tells the tire size and gvwr of 2000.
Mountainman
Thats a place to start. Search the interweb for dixie craft trailers info. Also, using MOONlite's specs, you could pull your axle & measure the existing bearings & races. Even take them to your local auto parts store or marine store to find matches. basslover79
Thanks for the help mountain man. I changed my bearings back in the spring, now if I can just find the boxes they come in.. Lol! If not I will have to take the hub off and get the numbers that way.., I am planning on keeping the hub and bearing assembly in my boat in case of an emergency, and wasn't sure if there was a specific hub or what for a boat trailer. ottwaybass
I bought a spare kit for mine at boaters world next to west town mall in knoxville. Came in real handy just a couple of weeks ago. It comes in a plastic carrying case too.
