Guest Insanity
Just wondering if anyone else has a better idea then. What I use to fill spinning gear. At home. And that's simply to lay the spool of line (out of the box) on the floor label side up let's say. Crank until the line just starts to twist. Then turn said spool of line over and make an equal number of turns or more on crank until twist are about to start to happen again. Repeat spool turn over procedure. As often as needed. If you made to many cranks and the twist are to bad you'll notice as soon as you stop reeling and drop slack line down to turn over said spool. Lol ! In theory you now have the line twisted equally one way then the other on your reel. It will straighten out as soon as it's cast out. Or even better ran over the back of the boat. country
I used to have the line twist issue and some of it IMHO is certain reels are worse than others, I started using pline cxx in 8lb test and never have that issue anymore, I have been told not to use pline on spinning reels as it has too much memory and too thick but it works for me

BulletDeuce
+1!! Always works for me. +2 Always tie it off to something, & then stretch about 40-50 yards always does the trick for me.
Guest Insanity
+2 Always tie it off to something, & then stretch about 40-50 yards always does the trick for me. Yep but that stretches out the memory. I meant the twist caused by the spool size the line coming off of is four or more times bigger round then the standard spinning reel spool is. So it's like 4:1 twist in the line every crank. If you reel straight off the spool like with a pencil in it. It really makes a mess. Should have mentioned that the small spools, meant for a single fill. Do it a lot less. When using flipping over method. Amen, on some reels being better then others about doing it. flipperjig
always take the line off tha spool counter clockwise and you will solve the line twist problem....or if you wanna take it off the spool like a baitcater take it off the bottom of the spool....
