There are some techniques that catch fish. For whatever reason, as new techniques come along, we have a tendency to replace old methods with new ones. Im guilty. I used to catch alot of fish on tubes. For whatever reason, I just quit throwing them. I think this happened about 10 years ago, but I cant say when with 100% certainty because Im not sure when...or why.....I quit fishing them. It just happened. Every year, I try to come up with a fishing technique that I want to become a better fisherman with. This year, Im going back to tubes. Ive still got a few stored back in an old tackle bag that hasnt seen the light of day in a month of Sundays, but Im gonna dig em out and re-learn tube fishing. Heres a neat article I found while doing some research on the newer models & techniques behind tube fishing.

I don't know why I do it but I have a tendency to move away from techniques that work to try new things too. I quit fishing for about ten years but before that I fished a trig 90% of the time and caught just as many fish as I do now. I might fish a trig 20% of the time now but I seem to lean more towards crankbaits and when I do fish slow I seem to use a jig more. I hope your tube works out for you and I might just try using a trig more this year.
