Do you charge them after each use?, I know you said you trickle charge them before hand but a battery should be charged to 100% after each use and stored that way.

It's kind of a loaded question on replacement, it all depends on use, charges and storage

I have a couple walley worlds and they are probably close to five years old and they still hold a charge and i really can't remember the last time I used them for a full eight hours

Ive got a Trolling Thunder Gel double btty that I got years ago & it is the stuff! Charge it once every other trip if the wind aint bad. Every trip if it is or if its a long trip. Other wise, its good to go. Dont even know if these are still made, but the gel btty lasts a LOT longer.

Dude you need a battery charger. 1.5 amps wont cut it. They need 5-15 amps. It will take about 10 hours or so if using a 5 amp charger. The 1.5 amps you are using would take a week or longer to get them at full charge.

My 15 amp charger can reach a full charge in 4 hours or so.

You need a charger that will charge them THEN kick over to trickle. I would recommend a Guest Charger. They cost a little more, but are dependable and mine is over 5 years old now and still works like a champ.

Like others have said, make sure you charge right after use. If you let them set while discharged, sulfate builds up on the plates and them the battery is toast.
