Good looking buck Jim way to go.

As was mentioned above You need to show Mountain Man how to do this and explain to him that singing Rocky Top while sitting in the tree stand don't help. :poke::wavesmile:

Way to go Ole Pal!! He'll eat good, for sure.

I can make exceptions for Rocky Top when my buddy Tracker has to sing it with me...........c'mon Dwayne.

"Good Ole Rocky Top

WHOOOOO

Rocky Top Tenneesseeeeeeeeeeeee"

Keep on singing big man, ole Stump goes out for the 2nd time this year (pretty sure) and drops one while you've sit in the stand countless times singing and killing nothing but time. Keep on singing rocky top cause it don't look as though the deer are digging your tune. :poke::clap::lol:

For the record, I could have filled my buck tags twice by now and my doe tags after day 3. I prefer to let the little ones walk so they can grow to be big ones and I dont like to kill does this early in the year. Jim got a nice mature buck, but he's not hunting on public land either. That makes a huge difference as well. It has nuthin to do with my tone, trust me, the deer here :wub: Big Orange.

The usual.........let them walk excuse.......:smash::poke::lol:

Thats alright dude, im used to it. Been getting made fun of for years. I dont mind. Im about the only hunter in Sullivan co that selectively harvests. I learned many moons ago that I dont enjoy killin little bucks. Personally, Id rather not kill for a year or two or three(or however many it takes) than to kill little ones. Its against my hunting ethics. I like to eat deer & for that purpose, I'll harvest an old mature doe. She eats good & helps balance the male/female ratio in the process. Folks want to know why hunting in TN isnt as good as Ky, Al, Ga, NC, Oh, In, Va, etc.......its because we dont manage our herd for crap! In most of our border states, hunters are allowed 1(one) buck. period. All year. You think that doesnt make somebody selective? Other states have an "earn-a-buck" system where one has to harvest a doe to "earn" your buck tag. Its tough to be one of few against the masses of many, but one of these days, the good people of TN see the light & start to manage our herd properly. Until then, Ill let folks make fun of me for spending hours upon hours in a tree with no deer to show. And then watch their mouths fly open when I haul a monster out of places where they say "there aint no deer in there".....LOL!! That happens every time I squeeze the trigger!

Last time I was deer hunting I had a 14 point walk up with in 10 yards of me and eat Persimmons laying all over the ground under a tree for about 15 minutes and then watched him walk off. My son was watching with binoculars from about 200 yards away. He came and got me out of the stand about an hour later and on the walk back to the house he told me I might want to quit hunting. I looked at him and smiled and said I did, about 4 hours ago. I laughed and said I saw that big buck son. He was so beautiful I just didn't have the heart to shoot him and he said well I'm sure Justin or I will bag him soon. That was in 1990 and neither of them ever got that deer. I lost my desire to kill critters after I lost my son that same year. Now I feed all the critters around the house, Squirrels, Rabbits, Birds of all kinds and I just enjoy sitting watching them. My grandson keeps me well supplied in deer meat. He will kill me two and sometimes 3 a year. With that said You go right ahead and be selective MM and pick your deer and thats a nice one you got there Jim. Thats just about the right size for some great eatin for sure.:cheers::cheers:
