The 110 fx is a great shallow suspending jerkbait while the 110+1 is an excellent deeper suspending jerkbait. The other 110 models will either float up slowly or sink slowly. You can vary depth by what size/type of line you throw it on. If I’m looking for a smaller jerkbait, the 78 series pointer is my go to. Therefore the Megabass Vision 110+1 and the Lucky Craft Staysee 90 are my go-to jerkbaits. However, there are times you need a deep bait, but the fish are not interested in a 90 to 110mm bait. Their forage is smaller, so they tend to aim for smaller. But a small deep bait is virtually unheard of. at least in the states for some reason. I was turned on to this bait six years ago and it has kicked butt on many a day. Actually, my first time was with a Canadian friend who opened his tackle box and with this little Nories Laydown Minnow Deep we had a 100 fish day including several 5 lbers on Lake Erie. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NORIES-LAYDOWN-MINNOW-DEEP-JUST-WAKASAGI/381035066520?hash=item58b775b498:rk:1:pf:0&var Nories is a well known brand in Japan (and Canada), but their soft baits are all I've ever found in US stores. There are a couple exporters who tend to use eBay to cover the US market. They're only 66 mm, but still go 7 to 8 foot deep that run perfect, come in a multitude of colors and are reasonably priced. I HAD a Lucky Craft but someone (Astro180) lost it LMAO. No big bro!! Figured I'd bust your cahonies LMAO. I'm on a Livingston kick right now but can't find one that floats the way I like. Think about it: when the shad die they kinda slowly fall to the bottom. Easy pickings for predator fish. A couple of strategically placed suspend dots is all it takes. And they won't affect the action on the bait when you're working it. Not much to figure out. You're still gonna give the bait those long pauses. Now, instead of just sitting there the bait is slowing falling. Doesn't get any subtler than that. I keep a tray of jerkbaits (all sizes, colors) doctored up to do this. I've got on a crankbait bite by stalling it out after hitting rock or wood. Having the bait hover or slowly rise after deflecting off cover was the difference. I was using a squarebill crankbait & had gotten a couple bites on the pause, so i put a larger hook on the front & 3 dots. Ended up catching 5 after modifying it, & they were eating it whole, not nipping like before. I like both megabass & Lc jerks. Another i like is the Duo realis, its a nice looking bait & catches fish. On a side note, there is a seller on ebay selling megabass 110s for $14. The catch is, $6.80 shipping. You want the bait to sink nose first. You may need to play around w/ placement before you get it just right.
