I'd say between 55 and 65.  Many of the 18'ers can break 60 w/ a lite load.  The bigger boats w/ 225s or 250s will run 70+.  You're gonna get a variety of answers to this question - many doods have sleds that'll run faster than they like to drive them.  Lots of variables to consider: comfort, skippering skills, water conditions, boat traffic.  All of these affect how fast one can or should drive their boat.

Thanks, I had my new Z20 hit 73 loaded with my friend and all the gear. Got a little lose filling once we hit 68 but hit top speed and backed off.   Feel good about the boat solid run at 65with no issues.  Thanks for the info.

The question would easier to understand in English,.... a 19' bass boat with a 200hp or 20'/225hp should run close too or above 70mph. A 20' or 21' w/250hp should  run 75mph+ on the right water. Very few bass boats will break 80.The aforementioned conditions really dictate how fast you can/should go. A z20 hitting 73 is not bad at all. Hope this helps

Sounds like your speed is good to me. Now, if you’re asking what the average speed is across ALL tournament boats, which is kinda how your question is reading, the answer is anywhere from 15, to 90+. Some guys fish tournaments outta 15 horse Jon boats with a cooler live well, and others fish out of souped up Allison/Bullet boats, which would give race boats a run for their money, and then there’s everything else you can think of in between.

Yep, 73 in a Z20 is really good (I'm assuming you have a 250).

Those Bullets and Allisons will flat scare the bajeebies out of you.  Rode in one (1) (just one) Allison - hit 101.  On the Potomac River.  Thought I was gonna poop my britches.  I threw up when I got ashore.  Never again.  65-70 in my sleaux Triton is just fine.
