trackertxw175
So, after weather, fighting fish and falling on them and general wear and tear, time came to do something about seats in the boat. New ones $389-$499 depending on whether on sale and how high buckets. Decided to have mine reupholstered. I used to have upholstery work done from a widow up the road. She has gotten to where she doesn't have the strength to do anything major but recommended her brother. I took mine to him and just got them back. Decided to leave the red panel out and go with two-tone grey. Other than trying to get the lag bolts on backs lined up, went smooth. He used heavier vinyl and cost $300 for the pair. He's in Jefferson City and does cars, boats and headliners. Says he used to do boat carpet but can't kneel down very well anymore.

brwnbass
Those look great. Glad to hear somebody got their stuff done right & for a reasonable price & timeframe. Ive had 2 friends that got screwed bad. 1 waited a yr to get his boat back, after taking it for carpet & seat redo. Another has been to 2 different places with his deck boat, spent a yr in one shop for seats. Got it back & the next yr took it to a different guy for carpet, outdrive seal & some other seats recovered. He went & picked it up after over 2 yrs, in a millon pieces, outdrive laying on the deck. Seats stripped bare, carpet laying rolled up in the floor. Guy that started it got put in jail. Boat is still sitting in pieces.

Seats stripped bare, carpet laying rolled up in the floor. Guy that started it got put in jail. Boat is still sitting in pieces. Took him about two weeks to get the material and complete. He even marked where my screw holes were under the seats. Took me 4 1/2 hours to put both back in, 4 on passenger side and 30 minutes on driver side. The fresh padding made it hard for me to get the lag bolts started in on the passenger side. Driver side fell right in place. Probably would have been faster to get lined up if i had completely removed the seat back panel out of the boat but i was worried that i wouldn't be able to get the panel screws started in with the weight of both seat backs on it. I just took out the four top panel screws out and pulled it forward so that i could get my arm behind it to start lag bolts.
