TennCreekBridges Saying "Hullo"!

Recommended Posts

Hey TN fishing folk, I'm Bridgett Valet, originally from upstate NY & central PA. Have been in TN for the last 20 years, fished the Stones River around Murfreesboro with success for many years and am now in Sparta targeting all kind of skinny-water critters. The largemouth were my stronger game in Murfreesboro; smallmouth are more my thing out here toward the Cumberland Plateau. Love the incredible diversity and relatively untouched waterways I can access with my kayak... and catching some respectable bass while doing so.

I'm more of a 'put in at a spot, paddle up, fish through the day and paddle back' kinda river rat than a lake angler, but found success on Center Hill last year while training for the Pan-American Kayak Bass Championship held in Cookeville. Our ladies USA team took a gold medal, the overall USA team took gold and I personally ended in 8th out of 42, with seven different countries competing - it was pretty awesome!

All that to say I'm not a tournament angler, ha. I love to get out on the water when I want and off when I want... with the goal of inspiring and educating folks as best I'm able about fishing out of these little plastic boats (I'm in marketing for Jackson Kayak / Orion Coolers). I've been extremely fortunate to travel across the country to different trade shows, to write articles and to end up on the television several times on this adventure.

I'm here to learn (of course!) and to help out with local savvy where I'm able for inquiring minds.

Tight lines all! Happy to be part of this community.

~ Bridgett Valet (Howard)
