alumacraft09
If a fisherman was in a tx and caught bedding fish and hauled them around 1/2 the day in live well took them to weight in and put them back at the same area he/she caught them would they go back on the bed? Or if you weight them in and released them at the weight in will they try to bed again or what? just wondering??
Stratos260
I always wondered that myself. When fish are caught off of beds in a tournament do the guys usually take the fish back to the area where they caught it or do they just turn them loose at the ramp? Also if you take the male or female away from the nest does it mess up their nesting routine?

Mountainman
Good article, Jeff. Everything I learned in Fisheries Biology tells us of the 2 driving forces of bass. 1) EAT 2) Reproduce That said, it is the will to reproduce successfully that will push a bedding female that has been relocated to form a new bed. The condition/location may not be "ideal" to her & this may cause a ton of stress on the fish, but she WILL find a bed & she WILL lay eggs on it. Instances have been documented where females have held their eggs past the "prime" laying time until they could use a bed that another bass had finished with.
