trackertxw175
I just bought my first BFS set up. I was skeptical about it even working but can tell everyone that just playing around with it in the yard, I can throw a 1/6-1/8 jig 50'-60'. I also took a 3/32 sickle hook jig head with a 3.3 Keitech and got 70'-80'. My setup: Kastking Zephyr reel Shimano Sensilite rod Yozuri 10lb braid 6lb Seaguar fluorocarbon leader It's ridiculous how accurate you can cast it. Hopefully, I can give an update after I get on the water with it. The spool is a shallow design that holds a limited amount of line. From what I've watched on YouTube, if you get hung, you will want to pull the line and not with the rod. The spool can warp since it's lightweight aluminum. More to follow. Buckeye83
That’s pretty impressive Ross! I’ll have to look into that. I can’t stand the line twist on a spinning reel with those light baits.
trackertxw175
First BFS fish. Had the drag set a tad loose and didn't think it was that big until it dove under the boat. Apparently, it was swimming straight at the boat. Cherokee is a chocolate mess at Quarryville. Water was 49*-50*. Found a sunken boat and dock if anyone lost one. Overall, I really like this set up. The square bill is a 1/4 oz. Had two birds nests and a lure break off. All three happened after putting down one of my other rods that I had been whipping around like always. I remembered the third time and clamped my thumb down and the leader snapped. Surprised that I actually found the lure as muddy as the water was. It's a learning curve. Peck
Nice. I may have to add one of those to my fleet. I hate picking up a spinning rod.
