trackertxw175
Anyone else scope out older reels? Part of my collection. These are probably late 70's to mid 80's vintage Diawa Procaster PMA 33SL, PMA 35SL, PMA 3SL-A, Shimano Bantam Mag Plus 251 SG and 201 SG. I still use the Shimano's a lot for winter cranking. Think they are in the 5:1 range. The Diawa's were something of cutting edge technology back in the day. Zero friction line guide that spreads apart when you depress the spool release and comes back together when you reel. I still use the 201 SG on my c-rig rod. These were nothing more than simple two bearing reels with no magnetic brakes. Adjust the brake correctly and it absolutely casts a mile. BulletDeuce
Yep. I’ve got some older Abu Garcia 3600’s I use when it’s below freezing for cranking and some Lew’s BB1NG’s. I’ve sold a bunch and updated, but they are very simple to take apart and service- surprisingly you can still find parts for some of them.
