eastenfish
I have a Fish Elite 500c that I'm having some problems out of. Water temp and Gps features are flawless. However the sonar has started acting up on me. If i reset the unit it will perform well most of the time for a few minutes. Then when I get up and run it will start flashing and won't read depth. Sometimes it will return to a reading after I stop. I have had this unit for 5 years and it has never been a problem before. Only started this year. I just put a new transducer on it last year. I don't think it is the transducer because it reads fine at low speeds and when only using the trolling motor. Additionally I am not wanting to spend $100 bucks on a new transducer to find out if it is the problem and put money into an old unit that is not worth probably $200 anyway. So if no one has any ideas to make it work. I also want to know if hummingbird side imagining is worth the money. I know it's cool and fun it use but does it really help you catch more fish? Thanks in advance.
Jon
The most simple solution to stop it from locking up is to stop the chart before you run high speeds. The sonar is not useful at high speeds anyway. When you come off plane, start the chart back with the push of a button.

This is the unit at my steering wheel. So I would like to know how deep I am when running on plane.
