BassinHomer
Just wondering if anyone could throw a suggestion out there for a good spinning reel in the $75.00 or less range, looking for something that can handle lighter jigs for shakey head fishing and maybe some tight lining this winter, but probably more along the lines of just really light jigs
Guest
Shimano Sahara ...the older ones are best.......and last but not the least favorite is Daiwa Exceller.... tough as nails and as smooth as silk....
basshunter360
Daiwa Exceller, would be my choice. I have a couple of higher end shimano spinning reels and i would say that the exceller ranks right with the shimano.
Triton196
A Diawa Regal or Exceler can't be beat.

Guest
Daiwa Exceller, would be my choice. I have a couple of higher end shimano spinning reels and i would say that the exceller ranks right with the shimano. i was blessed to use one of the $500 Shimano's and to be honest the $59 Daiwa was just as smooth and cast even farther.... Wiseguy909
Im thinking about getting one of the old Diawa 1300 models. I know sevral guys that have them and they are old but, still in production. I fished with one a couple of weeks ago and it was really smooth. BassinHomer
Thanks for the suggestions guys I'll check those out Anyone got any suggestions on line, would it be advantageous to use a heavier braid or something with a leader or go with the recommended #test rating for the reel? Speaking of I'm off to start a new thread....

Wiseguy909
What's up with the Steez series of reels? I just don't get it, why anybody would pay that much for a reel? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Reels_Spinning/catpage-RLSDAIWA.html

The Daiwa Steez is built with advanced technology, materials and treatments that clearly set this reel above the rest. The lightest spinning reels of their kind. I think that pretty well explains it
Hoss
The Steez is just too rich for my blood.... I have a couple of the Pflueger Presidents and have had very good luck with them.
