Wiseguy909
Hey guys i've got a motorguide trolling motor and it has been rough on pull ropes. The factory one lasted about three years and ive replaced them pretty much every season after that. Does anybody make a good, strong aftermarket replacement pull rope? SilverFox
If you would pick better fishing locations.... and stay on them longer, you wouldn't need to replace your rope as often.

Wiseguy909
And you're on your way to buy a new pull rope... Im gonna try the parachute 550 cord and try to put some heat wrap on it where it goes through the bracket.
SilverFox
It's a wonder I haven't wore mine out this year. I sure haven't been on any fish to keep me in one place.

If you don't have any luck let me know. I have some original Motor Guide rope I picked up while at the Motor Guide Trailer at one of the Skeeter owners Tournament events. Be more than glad to give you some. I have had to replace mine once in 10 years and had to do it on the water and was not fun. Let me know if you want some and I will get it headed your way. Donnie
Try putting some marine grease on every point that gets movement too. This gets overlooked a lot of times.

Wiseguy909
Go to Lowes and get a few feet of 1/8" vinyl coated galvanized cable. OK I went Lowes and got the 1/8" vinyl coated cable. It was a son of a to try to work with where it went onto the latch. I went back to Lowes and got the 3/32" and it worked perfectly. Thanks Charger and everybody else that suggested it. I was checking the tire pressure and noticed a big chunk missing out of the tread, so off to the tire store in the morning. Thanks again.
