geezer
Recently got permission to fish two small half acre ponds, one is covered in moss and the other is up in the woods with crystal clear water and around 15 ft. deep. What I was wondering is what is everyones go to lure for ponds, I havent fished a pond in years but was able to hang a few in the mossy pond on a black buzz bait and the woods pond I caught 3 or 4 on a crappie jig and two on a small chatterbait working it like a jig. Im just wondering if next time I need to try something slow like a worm or shakey head but not sure on color. Thanks yall
Mountainman
shakeyhead is a sure bet on any body of water. Also, look around the pond at the invertebrate community to see what the fish in the pond may be feeding on. Then try to match your lure to that food source. basslover79
Try a weightless white Super-Fluke . I always do good at our local ponds with that.

bronzebackhuntr
I used to rack up pond fishing with a buzzbait, spook, , swim jig, and a senko. Looking back I kinda miss those days. Alot of people downsize in a pond, but I never did and caught alot of big fish.
familyman14
Not having a boat I fish ponds a lot and what seems to work for me is topwater stuff, white with blue fleck spinnerbaits, and powerbait vibrating swim tail minnows (2-3") minnow & white/chartruese. But I agree with mountain man, check to see what the fish are eating in your ponds. Frogs might work well in the mossy pond. Also if you have cicadas where you are i'd look at some abrogast bug baits. Good luck.
