LEDGE FISHING

pretty much sums it up. Anywhere along a main lake, feeder creek or river arm channel where a gradually sloping bank drops off sheer for an amount and then resumes the gradual slope. Or, they can continue to ledge in & out creating a stair step look.

It usually refers to a creek or river channel, as stated above. Fish can stack up on certain places on ledges & it can be great one day, & gone the next. The best time to fish them is usually when water is being pulled thru a dam, creating current along the breaks or drops. If you can find a bend on a ledge where the current runs over or around it, you can load the boat..................................:shooting:
