softbaitmaker
I have a buddy here locally here that is catching some really nice fish and winning a few Tx's on a Dropshot Rig I showed him and he said he has had many doubles on it. I began making a Bungee Worm about a month ago and he got some in solid black and some in Red Shad. He put his top hook on a loop knot about 2 feet above a Texas rigged worm on the bottom. He said about 65% of the fish come on the upper hook but he has taken alot of T-rig also and several times caught two at once. He has came back and got more worms a few days ago...... brwnbass
That sounds strange. No way i would trust a loop knot above my worm like that. But i do have other ideas..................................................................

softbaitmaker
The loop knot has not failed my buddy yet and he has caught 5 fish over 4 pounds on top hook on 14 lb test DNA Promix line.....
NiceGuy
THat makes total since to me... Why waste a bottom sinker when you could have a bait on it...I have heard of a guy using a jig on one too...

My buddy started out using a jig but didn't catch anything on it so he switched over to T-rig and began catching fish on both and sometimes two at once......... I have heard of using a jig on a c-rig before, like a 3/4 oz football head. never tried it tho.
SJK
Loop knots are a lot stronger than you think.
Stratos260
I've got a question Softy. I always tie my dropshot rig with a palomar knot and put my weight on the tag end. Could you just do this rig the same way with the palomar knot? I know the loop knot will give the top worm more action but I was just wondering if the palomar would work. I'm sure a Palomar knot would work but as you said your self. It is going to restrict the action on the bait on the upper hook. JMHO
softbaitmaker
Don't know if you can see it to clear but this is how I tie my rigs for this style of fishing. I was fishing for Smallies with this rig so both baits are smallmouth bait types.
NiceGuy
i always tie a overhand knot on a drop shot hook and run the tag end back through the hook eye before tying on the weight...
