ottwaybass
I have been having problems with my pumps not working for a while now. Not all of them, just one aerator and both pumpouts went out at once. Well I think that I finally found out what the problem is. On my boat I have those nifty(sarcastic) touch pads for the controls. Well it seems that these silly things have relays for each and every little switch. So guess what that means, yep you guessed it, when one goes out you have to buy the whole panel. There are two of these panels on mine. Now I also have the problem that the courtesy lights don't work either. Yay me. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention the best part. These panels are $308 a piece, and I have to buy both of them. Just another day as a boat owner. Oh and the new ones aren't even the same shape as what mine are. Yeah!!!! softbaitmaker
sorry to hear about this JJ. Believe me it was all planned that way. They know electrical circuits won't last to long so they plan ahead on making money from them.
ottwaybass
I could by several new rods with that money, but got to keep the fishies alive.

NiceGuy
thats bad news for sure....may want to look at putting those on a toggle...
SilverFox
That's what I'm screaming... put those things on some different switches. If it's got wires going in and out, I see no reason you can't just wire them up to a different... and lot cheaper... control.
softbaitmaker
I have added switches to my Bug Boat that had those flat flip switches that went bad and they wanted $15.95 for or a $2.99 toggle switch at Autozone. I got the toggle switch removed the flat switch. Made a small framed piece of plexiglas to fit original location and now have a toggle that works great. Thing is I'm sure that your control panel probably has about 5 or more things it controls in a single panel.......
brwnbass
Yea, id make my own switch panel if i were you. You prob wont have $50 in the whole deal. Hell, for $308 i'll make you one out of carbon fiber with aircraft switches!!! lol.
ottwaybass
I may have to take you up on that. I have to replace both the left(recirc, aerator, pumpout, and bilge) and the right side(main power, acc 1, acc 2, courtesy lights, nav and anchor, and something else). I thought about putting in the regular rotary style switches that most Tritons come with, but I'm sure that I would screw the wiring all to he##. These new ones just plug in to the other plug in the back of these. Would be much easier if they were all seperate with the blade style plug ins. It wouldn't really matter to me if they were plywood panels. Just frustrating that they don't even make the ones that have the same shape as mine anymore. Mine are shaped like an upside down trapazoid(had to look that one up ) but the new ones are oval shaped. They say that they will fit. If they don't I guess they will just have to keep them, cause I ain't puttin some ill fittin crap that I pay that much for in my boat. Sorry just had to vent. AllOutdoors
Make your own.
brwnbass
If you decide to make your own you can get a piece of colored plexiglass & trace the outline of your old panel onto it, mark your mounting holes & have a good fit. Then drill it for your switches. If you wire it yourself, put a dab of electrical grease on all your connections so they dont corrode & you'll be set. Jon
I'd definitely look into making a replacement panel with switches if you're going to keep it. Those touch pads were screwing up before allot of boats were out of warranty....
ottwaybass
I have been really lucky with these. They have lasted for almost 10 years. I have had the boat for almost 6, and before that it was used as a camera boat in the classic in 02. It sat at the Triton factory for 2 years till Minors in Morristown bought it from them, and I bought it from Minors. On another note, I checked another place that buys out old dealerships inventory and they wanted over $500 a piece for them. If the ones I have oredered don't fit, I am definately going to make my own.
