Stratos260
I am wanting some opinions on using clear/flourescent line during the day. I know all the manufacturers say that it is visible above the water surface but invisible underwater but I was just wondering if any of you all have any experience to back this up. I almost always use clear mono or flourocarbon but I really like the feel and strength of PLine CX and they don't offer it in clear only clear flourescent. I was just wondering if any of you have noticed catching fewer fish when using clear/flourescent line.
Mountainman
Ive always used clear/flourescent in the day. The only time I dont is on SoHo in the winter. Now, I will be the 1st to tell you that Im no pro fisherman, but I really havent seen any major differences in catch ratio between myself & those who dont use it. My is thats the line diameter is more important than the flourescence.
Wiseguy909
I got a buddy that uses 17 BPS Excel clear blue flourescent during the day. He catches alot of fish on it. I usually try not to use it unless I'm night fishing but after watching him it's given me a whole lot less fear of using it during the day time. I don't know if it really matters that much but there's no way I would try it on some of these gin clear lakes like Pound or Flanigan. brwnbass
I have been using clear/blue flor. all my life during the day & havnt had any problems with it. Ive always used bps 10lb & catch just as many fish.I have recently switched to sunline super mono, whitch is clear & has better feel, but i cant see it under a blacklight. softbaitmaker
All of my reels have Clear Blue Florescent DNA ProMIX on them and I fish Percy Priest at night with it and I turn around and fish Old Hickory during the day with it and I catch fish on both lakes. I really think it does not effect the fish and I think that after about 6 inches below the surface in the day light it becomes almost clear. I never use line less than 12 lb and over 17lbs which is on my Flipping Stick only and I catch fish in a foot of water with Jigs on that line so I really don't think it matters alot. alumacraft09
I use bps 6 lb green line for rivers an streams. I use 10 lb blue floresent on all my reels at nite for lake fishing and some times use a florocarbon leader at nite . day time fishing I like to use 10 lb green line in lake ,it all makes a differnce in my opinion to get a few more bites

SilverFox
I always used green line in SC... 20 pound test mono for no matter what I fishing. Here, I can't buy a fish... and I'm using BPS clear/blue flor. and PLine Flor. The BPS light doesn't show up well with the nite eyes. I bought some green line the other week. Just haven't had a chance to go fishing. Of course I was fishing shallow back home...
