Ok Fellas, here's a question for you guys. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I fish a Sammy alot and one my buddies swears by the Super Spook. I was gonna see what everybody's personal preference is and also is any the topwaters with the walk-the-dog type action that are easier to throw than others?

Im with Mayle on the P70's....only problem I have with them is theft! Lost around 7 of the original ones to a truck break in a few years back...man did that hurt. I still have 4 or 5 of the old ones and they get alot of action. If you look on ebay, Ive seen them go for nearly $100 a plug....thankfully, I bought mine up long ago before they got popular and didnt break the bank. The new ones are junk IMO!

Your right about the new ones being junk! I have only two orignal old P70's left and I have bought 4 of the new ones and they defently do not have the same action. I have caught fish off the new one but nothing like the old school P70 pop-R.

In my opinion the sammy is hard to beat on clear water lakes or calm (glass slick) water. When fish are schooling or running in wolf packs I'll use a super spook. I find that a popper works best in slight chop or when the bass are being lazy because you work it at any speed you need to. And where I fish a lot of clear water natural shad patterns always produce the best.

I prefer the Super Spook jr.s hands down for walking the dog. I only use two colors, For sunny days it's the Solid Chrome salt water series with updated hooks and the other is the Clear for cloudy or overcast days. I have about 5 solid Chrome Sammy's in the 100 and the 115 series and I catch fish on them but I don't try and walk the dog with them because they are tail weighted and tail wants to stay down. I use them as a twitch bait and jerk type style of fishing. I love using a spook Jr with a front runner in front of it. Alot of times I will catch two fish at once when the strikes come...... :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
